One School, One Year, One Charity 2025-26
Last year marked the second year of our school-adopted model of fundraising which, in essence, means that, as a school community, we all put our efforts for one school year into fundraising for one charity.
In 2023-2024, we raised a whopping 10,000 euros for Barretstown and in 2024-2025, we raised an impressive 8,000 euros for the Wicklow Hospice.
Last week, our Head Boy and Head Girl, Killian Keane and Caoimhe Doherty, visited Wicklow Hospice with our Principal, Mr Donoghue, our Deputy Principal, Ms Casey, and two members of the core team of fundraisers, Ms Doyle and Ms Thornton to formally present €8,000 to Ms Allison Ryder from Wicklow Hospice. Allison gave us a tour of this wonderful facility and explained to us the work of those employed in the hospice from physios to pharmacists and doctors along with many more who all work together to support the care of patients and, indeed, family members who are accessing this service. She explained that it takes €5.5 million to operate the three Hospices so all fundraising is greatly appreciated.
This year our school charity will be aimed at fundraising for LauraLynn Children’s Hospice and we are aiming to raise €7,000. All support is greatly appreciated.
