DEIS Plan - Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools
Coláiste Chill Mhantáin was awarded DEIS status in 2023 and while this brings a greater leveling of opportunity to our school community it also allows us to reflect on school life and how our Mission Statement interfaces with the lived experience of our students and the wider school community. We believe that every young person deserves the support and encouragement they need to reach their full educational potential. Our DEIS Plan details an integrated and focused approach to achieving this aim. It is supported by a much increased emphasis on target-setting and the measurement of progress and outcomes for our students and their experience of teaching & learning and the wider curriculum in our school.
In partnership with parents, students and teachers we have designed our DEIS Plan which we believe will be effective in improving the outcomes for our students on completion of their time in CCM. These outcomes will be wide and varied as our students are representative of the community we serve but ultimately we aim to see improvements for students across the DEIS Pillars
